On what's shaping up to be one of awards season's busiest weekends, W partnered with Dom Pérignon last night to host a high-wattage party of its own at the Chateau Marmont. The event celebrated the magazine's Best Performances issue, and editor in chief Stefano Tonchi was eager to pay credit to his longtime collaborator, Lynn Hirschberg. "She sees hundreds of movies starting at Cannes, and she selects those performances that she thinks will define a career and the movies that she thinks will define this time of the year," he told Style.com. The February covers reveal her choices: Young Adult's Charlize Theron and Moneyball's Brad Pitt. Pitt's cover touts the superstar as "hotter than ever," and indeed he's so hot he wasn't in attendance, but the hotel's sixth-floor penthouse was packed with plenty of eye candy anyway. Theron, Jessica Biel, Kirsten Dunst, Elizabeth Olsen, and Miranda Kerr, for starters. Fresh from the AFI Awards earlier in the day, Emma Stone's first order of business was introducing herself to the VS Angel's better half, Orlando Bloom—and wishing him a happy birthday. Elsewhere, a Louis Vuitton-clad Sofia Coppola waxed nostalgic about being at the hotel, where she filmed much of 2010's Somewhere. "It's always such fun coming back. A lot of people working here have worked here for many years and on my films, so I always like being here."
